Iran-Armenia film ‘Yeva’ directed by Anahid Abad has been granted the audience award at the 12th Pomegranate Film Festival held in Canada.
The 99-minute long film went on screen at the last day of the festival on November 19, 2017 and was chosen by the audience as the best film.
Farabi Cinema Foundation based in Iran represents worldwide rights for the movie, a report said.
The flick stars many recognized actors and actresses from Armenia such as Narine Grigoryan and Shant Hovhannisyan. The movie is also set to apply for a slot at the latest edition of Cannes Film Festival.
‘Yeva’, a woman who is under prosecution in connection with her husband’s murder, faces challenges in her life, the movie synopsis read.
The 12th edition of Pomegranate Film Festival was held November 15-19, 2017 in the Canadian city of Toronto.
